How do I become a driver?
You can register using the linked form or by phone at 044 974 25 25. We'll set time aside to get to know you. You can ask any questions you have, and we'll also consider whether this role might be a good fit for you.
In a group setting, we'll teach you how to deal with different disabilities and demonstrate proper wheelchair handling, so you'll be sensitized to the situation, even if it's your first time interacting with someone in a wheelchair. Next, your instructor will transport you through traffic on a VeloTixi Züri. You'll then learn how to ride our tricycles, which behave significantly differently than bicycles—when loaded and empty. This is followed by a final test, alternating between a different rider and accompanied by an instructor on a separate bike. You'll identify your strengths and areas for improvement.
Your first ride with a passenger will also be accompanied by an instructor. Afterwards, you'll discuss your first experience. You can repeat the rides with an instructor as often as necessary. Afterward, you'll be an active member and driver for the club.
We are looking forward to your contact
